Once you approve the quote, we schedule a visit that suits you and confirm who is coming.
Repair day
The crew protects the area, sets up HEPA dust control, makes the repair, matches the texture and cleans up.
Walkthrough, then payment
You inspect the finished work with the technician. Anything that is not right gets fixed before you pay.
Before we arrive: a little prep helps
You do not have to do much, but a few small steps make repair day faster:
- Move small furniture, rugs and wall hangings a few feet away from the damaged area.
- Take fragile items off nearby shelves; patching and sanding cause light vibration.
- If a leak caused the damage, make sure the plumber or roofer has fixed it and let us know if the area is still damp.
- Keep pets in another room while we work.
- Have paint information ready if you know it. A can lid with the color name or code saves guesswork.
What actually happens on repair day
Technicians start by laying drop cloths and setting up dust containment. Damaged board is cut back to a clean, square opening, and wood backing goes in if the edges need support. A new piece of drywall is fastened in place and the seams are taped.
Then comes the slow part: multiple thin coats of compound, each feathered wider than the last so the repair has no visible edge. In humid weather we give each coat time to cure rather than rushing it with heat. After sanding, we apply texture to match the surrounding surface and prime it so it is ready for paint. Our page on blending a patch so it disappears explains how smooth a repair can be taken.

Why some jobs need more than one visit
Small patches can usually be completed in one trip. Bigger openings, ceiling replacements and leak repairs often need a second visit because compound must dry between coats and Florida air holds a lot of moisture. Popcorn ceiling removal and larger section replacements have additional steps of their own. We tell you the expected schedule when we quote, so there are no surprises. If you are comparing services, the full list of what we repair shows how each one differs.
After the job
Every repair is backed by a 1-year written workmanship warranty. If tape lifts, a seam reopens or a patch cracks because of our workmanship, call us and we will return to fix it. If you have questions later, such as when to paint or whether new damage is related, the same team is a call or text away. For more quick answers, the drywall repair FAQs cover common follow-up questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an in-person estimate?
Usually not. Most quotes are built from photos texted to 727-242-8500. If the damage is extensive or hard to read in a picture, we can do a free virtual estimate over video instead of a separate in-home visit.
Will there be a lot of dust?
Sanding compound creates fine dust, which is why HEPA dust control is standard on every job. We also cover nearby floors and furniture and clean the work area before leaving.
What if I'm not happy with how the repair looks?
Tell the technician during the final walkthrough. Payment happens after that walkthrough, and we correct anything that does not meet the standard we quoted before asking you to pay. That might mean another skim coat, more feathering or adjusting the texture.
Can I paint the wall myself afterward?
Yes. We leave repaired areas primed and ready for paint. Wait until the compound is fully dry, especially in humid months, and paint the whole wall section rather than spot-touching to avoid a sheen difference.
