A small town with high standards
Belleair is a small residential town just south of Clearwater, along Clearwater Harbor and home to the historic Belleview Inn. Its streets are lined with established, well-maintained homes, many with custom millwork, large windows and smooth or lightly textured walls.
Those features are beautiful, and unforgiving. Big windows throw light across walls at a low angle, revealing every ridge and dip. Crown molding and built-ins mean repairs have to be done around finished carpentry. And owners rightly expect their home to be treated with care. We bring HEPA dust control, drop cloths and floor protection to every job, and our technicians are background-checked.

Why patches show, and how we stop it
Most visible repairs fail for one of three reasons. The patch sits slightly proud of the wall, so it casts a shadow. The surface texture differs, so paint reflects differently. Or the patch absorbs paint at a different rate, so it 'flashes' with a duller or shinier sheen.
We deal with all three: feathering compound wide so there's no hump, matching or skimming the surface so texture is consistent, and priming repaired areas so the topcoat has an even sheen. For repairs on walls under heavy side-light, we recommend a skim to Level 5 across the repaired area, which is what our patch finishing crew specialises in.
Levels of finish, explained simply
Level 3
Taped and coated, ready for heavy texture. Fine for garages and textured walls; not for smooth paint.
Level 4
An extra coat and careful sanding. The usual standard for flat paint in living spaces.
Level 5
A thin skim coat over the whole repaired area. The choice for patches on smooth walls, glossy paints and rooms flooded with light.
Protecting a finished home
Floors and furniture covered, with walkways protected to the work area.
Plastic containment and HEPA air filtration while sanding.
Millwork and built-ins masked before we touch the adjacent wall.
Daily clean-up, and a final walkthrough with you before payment.
Lighting tells the truth
Recessed cans, cove lighting and wall washers are lovely in a finished Belleair home, and they are the harshest critics a ceiling can have. Light skimming across a surface turns a tiny ridge into a long shadow. That's why a ceiling that looked fine before new lighting went in can suddenly show every joint.
When we repair ceilings in rooms with grazing light, we check the result with a work light held at a low angle, the same way the fixtures will show it. Where the whole ceiling shows its joints rather than a few repairs, we'll tell you plainly that a full re-skim is beyond a patch job and better suited to a drywall finishing contractor. For the repairs themselves, you get a written quote so you can decide what's worth doing.
Plaster, ceilings and the rest
Some of Belleair's older homes still have plaster, which our specialist repairs with compatible materials; see our plaster wall and ceiling repairs. We also handle leak-damaged ceilings, cut-outs after plumbing or AC work and popcorn removal after testing.
We're minutes from our Clearwater shop and serve neighbouring Largo and the rest of our Pinellas County drywall service area.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finishing?
Level 4 includes taping and three coats of compound on joints and fasteners, sanded smooth, and suits flat paint. Level 5 adds a thin skim over the whole repaired surface, so the paper and compound have the same texture. It's recommended for smooth walls under strong light or glossier paints.
Can you repair a ceiling without disturbing crown molding?
Usually, yes. We mask and protect the molding, cut back the damaged area to a clean edge short of the trim, and finish up to it. If the molding has to come off for access, we'll tell you before we start so it can be removed and reinstalled carefully.
How do you keep dust out of the rest of my home?
We set up plastic containment where needed, cover floors and furniture, and run HEPA dust control while cutting and sanding. It's standard on every job, not an add-on, and we clean up before we leave each day.
